Update: Sony!

Hi everyone!
Just thought I'd give an update now that things are working!  I'm currently an intern at Sony Computer Entertainment in their music department.  I just finished my second week and will be here until he beginning of August.  Every day is something new, and I'm really being kept on my toes!  It's great, though.  The department is very small, even though Sony's size is beyond comprehension, and I've already got to work on stuff that other people will hear! It's been a mix of breaking down boxes and editing music to give you an idea.  If my internship ended today, I'd still feel like I gained a valuable experience from it. After that, it's possible I may be doing some short-term work or an internship at Berkeley Repertory Theater in sound or music.  Talks are in the works.

Still working on music for a dance piece which will be performed in July.  It's a challenge though, because my musical ideas have the limitations of what is possible for me to play or sing and record.  I think it will work out, though.  I've gotten very positive feedback from the choreographer.

I am almost done working on that a cappella project,  I think they only need me for one more session (thank god) and then it's off to some guy in North Carolina for editing and mixing.

That's about it!  It's been a little rough adjusting to my new schedule, but I am also enjoying this opportunity and trying to take in every minute of it.
I hope everyone is doing well.  Love you all =)

Fixed, Fixed, and... Fixed.

Hey everyone,

Things should be up to par. I'm done messing with the layout of the blog, so this is what's gonna stay. It's simple and purdy. Lemme know if you guys have any problems with anything.

@ Ryan... I'm glad to hear everything is going well for you! Are they looking for any other interns? Lol.

Bye Bye.

What's up Peeps...

Just checking in seeing how everyone is doing. The internship is going good at America's Army, keeping me real busy working 40 plus a week to make current deadlines. The new version of the game is coming out end of May. Got to design a whole level by myself which was pretty cool. Very interested in seeing how your all doing and maybe a Class 65 get together.

May-be?

Ahoy! Tim, the format looks jolly-fine, but as Ang mentioned, there's no commenting. So, if you're looking for a side job, does that mean you're ditching the Y, or that you're going to work two jobs with the internship? Either way, touche to you sir!

By the way, congrats to everyone else who have gotten gigs. By my count, Halligan, Sanj, and Schwerdt have all sealed some deals recently, so well done there, guys! As for myself, I'm debating a semi-permanent relocation to Portland as of June, pending a meeting or two with Shiloh, an actually significant trip to the place, and whatever else may arise. Either way, I've got to figure things out by June, so I'm curious if anybody feels like doing a backpacking/hiking trip sometime next month. I've already spoken briefly about it with Sanj, Massoud, and Schwerdt, but as far as I'm concerned, the more the merrier, and it's entirely flexible. Whether the trip happens or not, I'm determined to hang out with everybody that I can before June, so let me know if you're going to be around in May and maybe we can organize something, eh?

For the win. Yes. Feel it.
Kevin

Tim, Help!

Comments are still not behaving right, which may make people replying to you in comments difficult...

Woops

Sorry about all the layout changes, I'm just trying to find the "one". I really liked the previous layout, but the comment functions were not behaving right. Hopefully this one is better.

New Layout?

Blog Roll Call / Update with ya boy Tim

What's up all of c.65

It's been brought to my attention a few of you need a new invite to become an admin of these posts. If those needing invites could reply to this post providing an email address, I can re send the invite.

As a little update to what's happening in my life:

Jaden and I are about to finish up her album, I'll be sure to post everything when it's all done. I can hit you guys with some early snippets to get some feedback on the mixing and what not. Once again hit that reply tab and request :D. I've gotten a few internship opportunities which are all pending due to certain legalities. At two of the Post Production Facilities interested with me, they're requiring I be enrolled with at least 3 units in order to come in as legal intern. I guess this is their way of not compensating me with funds for my time, which is cool but I'm stuck with having to get a second job. So I'm on the job hunt applying to various places.

That's about it on my side I'd love to hear what's going on with you guys, and I miss every single one of you.

Alaska!

Joe and I recently went to Alaska, and it was a lot of fun. His parents bought him two tickets for him and a friend as a graduation present, and he asked if I wanted to go. Obviously, the answer was yes. haha. Anyway, I have posted a bunch of pictures on my flickr account, so you can check them all out.

Here's the set of all the Alaska pictures.

Hey, what's going on??!!

Yoyoyoyo mah peeps.  So, I want you guys to post here and tell us what you're doing.  Like, hey Ryan, how is that internship going?  Does anyone have a job yet?  Who is still in the bay area or not?

I don't have a job yet, but I'm still living in Berkeley, and I finally updated some of my webpage!  I put up a mix I just did all last-minute-like for DeCadence.  It's a cover of the Killers' "All These Things".  Go listen to it:

Hahahaha. Did you all see the grad photos?

Session this Thursday, Feb. 26

Hi all!
I have a session this Thursday from 4pm-midnight in the Heptagon.  If anyone would like to stop by and say hello, or touch a studio if you haven't in a couple months, or help me figure out a way around radio signal problems, you are welcome!

I'm tracking that a cappella group I've told many of you about.  They'll be working on a cover of "Starlight" by Muse.

FYI

For anybody who's been following our travel blog, it seems that we can't post while in China (can't gain access to Wordpress). It's all good though--things are great--and if anyone needs to get a hold of us, emails are still fine. There's a link on the page to Jason's personal blog, and he's apparently able to keep that one up as well. Bummed I missed graduation, and I hope you're all well.

See you in March

Kev

Need Help with Collective Memory

Hey, does anyone remember the name of that band in Live Sound 2:
3-piece jazz: drums, bass, guitar, but they normally have more.
the drummer was French
They are Expression regulars.
They're name is something like Solstice.  or something with an "O"?
I did monitor console for their concert, and they basically were happy with EVERYTHING.
Let me know!

Who?

Is going to graduation?

Please, let me know.

Speech

I don't want to give a speech.  I think you should all collectively write it for me, preferably while drunk.
I probably should have made this post quite a while ago, but I've been absurdly busy trying to move out of my apartment, etc. Anyway, I didn't get to see everyone off as well as I had hoped, and I realize that I may never see some of you again (or at least for quite a while). Ya'll should know that I'm completely humbled and grateful for having had the pleasure of spending a year+ with you and getting to know so many of you. Very rare was there a sincere moment when I felt a lack of friendship and support from the people around me, even when I wasn't looking for it. Anyway, I'll try not to ramble on too much, but suffice it to say that I would do anything in my power to help any one of you, and I'd be honored (feel it, feel the love) to keep in touch with any one of you.

So it's about 1:15 am (Jan. 29) here in Bankok, while it's 10:15 am (Jan. 28) over where you probably are. On the day of March 23rd, I'll be leaving Tokyo in the later afternoon and showing up in SF around 10 am on the same day. During the recent fire at my apartment, whilst smoking a hookah, I realized that it was the second time that Rob Schwerdt and I shared a "final" get together with our friends and classmates (we went to high school together). Time is strange. Here's to a brief reflection on the last stretch of road, and then the next step.

Kevin

Bah.

Hey everyone!  Just seeing how everyone's doing and if the job hunt has started.  It's really rough right now, and moving hasn't helped either.  If for some reason you don't have them my phone number and email is:

A Few Pictures

Here are some of the pictures I took when we all got together at Kevin's place for the fire. There was practically no light at all as the night progressed, so I tried my best, haha.

Thanks for all the memories.

Kevin/Andrew's last hurrah!

Come to Hobson's Choice on Saturday around 10pm to have drinks and celebrate our awesomeness! .... or tell us how much you hate us. Either way.....

But we leave on Monday so it'll be the last celebration until we get back at the end of March! Come one come all! Bring friends! Use exclamation points!!!!!! It's fun!!!!

Good Times

Yip, jacked this from Sanj's site. :D

Monday afternoon, 1/19

Here some of us are at the Broken Rack following the 210P cert.  Erick bought us all a round of SoCo and lime which we didn't find out until he convinced us to do a round of very large Washington Apples.  Later on, Dennis came and bought us a round of Jack.  How could you say no to him?  Needless to say, Alan had to pick me up from school, and I had to go lie down for awhile.

Btw, I saw Steve-O at school today, and he told me even though only one of us got certified (grats Kevin!), we had the most higher grades (missed it by 1 or a couple) than other classes.  Yay for us!
Love,
Angela

Post any and everything you'd like!
